Özet:

This research was carried out in order to reveal the current general conditions and the practices of milking management as well as the problems encountered of cattle enterprises in the central county of Erzincan and solution proposals. The research was conducted in 2019 and SPSS computer program was used for statistical analysis. The research material consisted from data of the face-to-face survey study conducted with 401 the enterprises' owners randomly selected by simple random sampling method from 2003 businesses located in the central county. In the evaluation, it was determined that the cattle enterprises are generally small-scale and more than half (50.8%) of them had cattle between 1 and15 heads. It was found out that in 47.4% of these enterprises, milking was done by hand, mobile milking machines in 47.1% of them were used and milking in 5.5% of them was carried out in the milking parlor. It was also determined that 94.1% of the breeders performed udder cleaning and disinfection before and after milking. In addition, within the scope of the research, it was found that only 47.7% of the enterprises were regularly checked for mastitis. According to the results of the study, it was concluded that for hygienic milk production, cooling tanks open to common use in villages had to be enhanced as well as the usage rate for milking machine, milking cows had to be checked for mastitis more frequently, breeders should be informed and encouraged to benefit from the milk incentives given by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
