The aim of this study was to determine the attitudes of secondary school students towards the environment. The survey which is the one of design of the quantitative research method was used in the study. The sample of the study consisted of 341 secondary school students attending 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade in Sarıoğlan district of Kayseri. In the research conducted in 2017-2018 fall period, the attitudes of the secondary school students towards the environment were examined according to variables such as gender, age, class, parental education level and family income level. “Attitude Toward Environment Scale” developed by Taflı and Ateş (2016) was used to collect data. This scale was prepared in accordance with our study and prepared as 24 items. Content, criterion, and construct (explanatory and comfirmatory with LISREL) validty was executed. Also, Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient was calculated. The data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 package program. In the analysis of the data, several descriptive analyzes were calculated and the characteristics of the distribution were determined. Data were determined to be in normal distribution and analyzed by parametric tests. In descriptive analysis of the data; mean, mode, median, kurtosis, skewness, standard deviation, range, variance and histogram graphs were interpreted within the determined intervals. In the inferential analysis, independent sample t-test, one way ANOVA, ANCOVA tests were applied. While the attitude of the female students was found to be more meaningful than the male students, no significant differences were found between attitude scores in terms of age, grade level, type of school, education level of parents and income levels. Suggestions were completed in line with these results.
