Eğitimciler olarak okullarımızın ve sınıflarımızın değişen demografik yapısına ne kadar hazırlıklıyız? sorusundan hareketle bu araştırmanın amacı sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin ortaokullarda öğrenim gören mülteci öğrencilere sunulan eğitim öğretim hizmetleri hakkındaki görüşlerini tespit etmektir. Araştırmada sosyal bir grup olan mültecilerin eğitimleriyle ilgili derinlemesine bir inceleme yapılmaktadır. Bu araştırma, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan durum çalışması modelindedir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunun belirlenmesinde amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden biri olan ölçüt örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Söz konusu ölçüt, mülteci öğrencilere en az bir eğitim-öğretim yılı eğitim hizmeti sunmak olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu bağlamda çalışma grubu, 2016-2017 eğitim öğretim yılında Ordu ili Altınordu ilçesinde bulunan Milli Eğitim Bakanlığına bağlı devlet ortaokullarında mültecilere eğitim veren 10 sosyal bilgiler öğretmeninden oluşmaktadır. Araştırma verilerinin toplanmasında yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verileri nitel araştırmanın doğasına uygun olarak betimsel analizle çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma bulgularına göre katılımcıların sosyal bilgiler ders içeriğinin mültecilerin ülkemize uyumunu sağlama ve diğer öğrencilerin mülteci öğrencileri kabullenme noktasında yetersiz olduğunu düşündükleri, mülteci öğrencilerle ilgili yaşanan sorunların temelinde dil farklılığının olduğunu belirttikleri, sosyal bilgiler öğretim programına mültecilikle ilgili göç, mülteci hakları ve özgürlükleri, mültecilerin kendi kültürlerine ait unsurları içerecek yeni konuların eklenmesinin önemli olduğunu düşündükleri sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, sosyal bilgiler öğretim programının ve ders içeriklerinin mülteci olgusu dikkate alınarak düzenlenmesi, sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin söz konusu gruba eğitim verebilmesi için hizmetiçi eğitimlere alınması, mülteci öğrencilere kendi kültürel unsurlarını yansıtabilecekleri ortamlar sunulmasının sağlanması önerilmektedir.

Staring from the question of ‘how much prepared for the changing demographic structure of our school and our class as educators?’, the purpose of this research is to evaluate the educational service provided to the refugee students who are trained in secondary school according to social studies teacher opinions. A thorough investigation is carried out on education as a social group of refugees in the research. This research is a case study model, one of the qualitative research methods. Criteria sampling method, which is one of the purposeful sampling methods, has been adopted in the study group of the study. The criterion is that it provides at least one educational year for the refugee students. In this context, the study group consists of 10 social studies teachers who provide education to the refugees in state secondary schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, which is located in the Altınordu province of Ordu in 2016-2017 educational years. Semi-structured interview technique was used to collect research data. The research data were analyzed by descriptive analysis in accordance with the nature of the qualitative research. According to research findings, the participants think that the content of social studies course was insufficient in terms of adapting refugees in our country, and for other local students to accept refugee students, the main reason for this was stated as language insufficiency, it was also found that the participants thought that it was important to include some topics in social studies curriculum as asylum, refugee rights and freedom, cultural elements that refugees bring in our society. According to the results of the research, it is suggested to organize the social studies curriculum and the course contents considering the refugee status to take refugee education the in-service trainings so that the social studies teachers can teach such groups, and to provide the refugee students with environments where they can reflect their own cultural elements.
