This study was conducted in tennis players with the aim of examining the relationship between the Functional Movement Screening (FHT) test scores and athletic performance and service shooting speed. The study was attended as a volunteer from 13 to 15 years of age with 18 licensed tennis players. The functional movements of the participants were determined by the FHT test kit, the service shooting speed by the radar device, the athletic performance by the 20m speed, the vertical and horizontal jumping, the health ball shooting and the spider test. Spearman Correlation Analysis has been used to determine the relationship between participants’ FHT test scores and athletic performance and service speed. The study found that there was no statistically meaningful relationship between the total score of the FHT test and the athletic performance and service speed (p<0,05). From the FHT subtest, a positive relationship is determined between the body stability swing and the vertical jumping, the horizontal jumping, the health ball launch and the service shooting speed variables, while from the FHT subtest, a negative significant relationship is determined between the body stability swing and the spider and the 20m speed variables (p<0.05). The participants’ total FHT test scores were found to be above the critical limit (14 points) indicating the likelihood of injury (16,05 points). As a result, the relationship between the FHT test and athletic performance and service speed has not been confirmed. This situation can be explained by the FHT test, while athletic performance tests, the study of how the movements are performed with the highest efficiency, are examining the suitability of functional movement patterns.
