Of course, the social context in which the films are produced and consumed is of great importance in terms of the understanding of the film. As a result of the economic, social and political developments in Turkey, the nature of the media, the practice of journalism and the identity of the journalist have undergone radical changes in the past century. This study, which examines the change through the form of representation in the cinema, has been attempted to reveal the paradigm changes that occur by keeping light on the historical development and transformation of the press. The study takes importance in terms of the way the film represents the journalist identity of a social character as a means of production of a social meaning. For this purpose, from the 1960s to the present day, films selected through the sample for the purposes of productions in which journalist characters participate or directly the media concerns were analyzed by the method of speech analysis. The study revealed that the journalist’s identity, which was seen as an intellectual and idealist thinker, who was in a more prestigious position in film films until the 1980s, began to lose this position in film films since the 1980s. As a result, the developments in the press and in society have also been directly reflected in the representations of journalists and media professionals in the white corner.
