Amaç: Çalışma, yetişkin kadınların sağlık okuryazarlığı düzeyini belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Yöntem: Çalışma tanımlayıcı ve kesitsel tipte yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri, “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” ve “Sağlık Okuryazarlığı Ölçeği” ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde; Yüzde, Ortalama, Student t testi ve ANOVA kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Katılımcıların yaş ortalamalarının 37.51±10.84 olduğu, % 50.2’sinin öncelikle hastanelere başvurduğu, % 54.8’inin sağlık dökümanlarını okumadığı, % 79.9’unun hastaneden randevu almayı bildiği, % 55.4’ünün hasta haklarını bildiği, % 79.2’sinin başvuracağı birimi bildiği saptanmıştır. Katılımcıların toplam ölçek puan ortalamasının 79.13±17.45, erişim alt boyut puan ortalamasının 18.51±5.48, anlama alt boyut puan ortalamasının 21.30±5.69, değerlendirme alt boyut puan ortalamasının 22.96±5.15, uygulama alt boyut puan ortalamasının 16.35±3.72 olduğu saptanmış, Cronbach alfa değeri 0.70’in üzerinde bulunmuştur. Katılımcıların toplam ölçek puan ortalaması ve alt boyut puanları ile medeni durum, eğitim durumu, genel sağlık durumu, kronik hastalık varlığı, sağlık dökumanlarını okuma, öncelikli başvurduğu kurum, başvuracağı kurumu bilme, sağlık haberlerini takip etme, randevu almayı bilme, hasta haklarını bilme ve form doldurma becerisi arasında anlamlı ilişki bulunmuştur (p˂0.05). Sonuç: Kişilerin sağlık okuryazarlığı puanı orta düzeyde bulunmuştur. İnsanların sahip olduğu kültürel ve toplumsal faktörler, eğitim sistemi, sağlık sistemi sağlık okuryazarlığını etkilediği düşünülürse toplumun sağlık okuryazarlığı düzeyini yükseltmek bireylere daha kaliteli bir yaşam sağlayacaktır.
Purpose: The study was conducted with the aim of determining the level of health literacy of adult women. Method: The work is performed in identificative and cutting-edge type. The data of the study was collected with the "Personal Information Form" and "Health Reading Scale". In the assessment of the data; percentage, average, student t test and ANOVA were used. Results: The average age of the participants is 37.51±10.84, 50.2 percent first apply to hospitals, 54.8 percent don’t read medical documents, 79.9 percent know how to get a hospital appointment, 55.4 percent know the rights of the patient, 79.2 percent know the unit to apply. The total scale score average of the participants is 79.13±17.45, the access sub-dimensional score average is 18.51±5.48, meaning the sub-dimensional score average is 21.30±5. 69, the evaluation sub-dimensional score average was 22.96±5.15, the application sub-dimensional score average was 16.35±3.72, the Cronbach alpha value was found above 0.70. The average scale score and sub-dimensional score of participants and the civic status, education status, general health status, the presence of chronic diseases, the reading of health records, the institution where the priority is applied, the knowledge of the institution to apply, the tracking of health news, the knowledge of getting a date, the knowledge of the rights of the patient and the ability to fill in the form have been found a meaningful relationship. The result: the health reading score of people was at the middle level. If the cultural and social factors that people possess, the educational system, the health system are considered to affect health literacy, raising the level of health literacy in society will provide individuals with a better quality of life.
