This research aims to determine the levels of showing cultural leadership behaviours of school principals with regard to the perceptions of primary school teachers and find out whether or not the perceptions of the teachers have significant difference according to their gender, branch and seniority. The population of the research was the whole teachers who work in the primary schools located in Çanakkale province. The sample of the research was 404 teachers who were selected through random method. The data were obtained through the Scale of Cultural Leadership, developed by Yıldırım (2001). The data of the research were analysed by using descriptive statistics, t test, one way ANOVA and Tukey significance test. Two major results were obtained from the research: 1) School principals are showing cultural leadership behaviour at “moderate level” with regard to the perceptions of primary teachers. 2) As there are no significant differences the level of showing cultural leadership behaviours of school principals with regard to the perceptions of primary school teachers according to their gender and branch, there is significant difference according to their seniority. Therefore, cultural leadership issues should be put emphasis on pre-service and in service training programmes related to training of school principals
