The purpose of this research is to determine how primary school teachers’ self-perceived competency about assessment of students’ achievement in terms of several variables. Research group was consist of 183 primary school teachers in 2008-2009 academic year in Çanakkale district. Data was collected by a self-report type survey with 17 items which involves teachers’ competency indicators in terms of assessment of students’ achievement. Then, the relationships among the variables such as teachers’ gender, in-service year, type of undergraduate degree and their class size were determined by using Cramer’s V coefficient test. In this research, a significant relationship has been found between the self-perceived assessment skills of primary school teachers, their in-service year, and class size. Findings were discussed with relevant literature
