Özet:

It has been seen that some academicians (Bâki Ayhan T., Mehmet Narlı, Emel Koşar) who are doing research on Turkish poetry have become the center of attention with the poem books that they have published. However, it is a matter of debate if these academicians well equipped with profound knowledge of poetry have penned poems of high aesthetical value or not. More precisely, the fact that the researches carried out on academician poets in our literature are few has kept the above-mentioned relation uncertain. This work revolves around the published poems of Baki Ayhan T., one of the most discussed-over poets of our time, and his world of feelings and ideas extracted out of these poems. The perception in Turkish poetry after 1980 which inclines to the form and the individual could also be seen in Baki Ayhan T.’s poems, however, this shouldn’t mean that the poet’s poetry has been abstracted from the social structure of the society. The poet, who bases his poetry on the modern individual, follows a route that goes from the individual to the society. Baki Ayhan T., who forms his poems in a new way, brings new possibilities into the modern Turkish poetry after 2000s. Through the poems penned in a new style and wording, the feelings and the escapist and seeking mood of the modern individual trapped inside himself are reflected strikingly. The poet, who strictly adheres to the form in the poems from his books “Uzak Zamana Övgü” and “Fırtınaya Hazırlık”, goes back to vers libre later, however, it is seen that even in his poems penned in vers libre, poetic harmony is still present and is not neglected. In the poems of the poet, who writes passages with striking associations thanks to his use of unusual projections, the following notions are the keys that open the door to the world of feelings: loneliness, nostalgia, longing for childhood, loss of the traditions, criticism of modernism, death, suicide, time, memories, joy of living etc. Baki Ayhan T.’s modern individual cannot keep up with the modern life of today; and most of the time, seeking and looking for a way out, he is left to loneliness.
