The development level of countries shows a consistent parallelism with the interest in which they show in the science and the accumulation of knowledge which they obtain in this regard. Global balances which are pioneered and directed by the Turkish world until the Industrial Revolution have fallen into the hands of the Western World which has been built on the science and knowledge after the Industrial Revolution. “Knowledge is power.” In the communication era we live in, the Internet as well as the Internet news media in terms of the mediaaretools from which the knowledge can be obtainedin the quickest and easiest way. The purpose of the study is to determine how the Internet media present the science, with a specific focus on researches conducted on the Mars planet. Do the Internet media present science news by tabloidising and detaching it from its original context or with a serious approach by respecting discourse expressed by the news source? In our study, the method used for the purpose of providing this assessment is the frame analysis. It will be understood by this study how the news items are conveyed to the public, with headlines, if available, subheadings and main headings, spots and images used. The sampling of the study consists of websites of the national mass newspapers with the widest circulation. Even though the circulation rate of newspapers can vary from time to time, especially the newspapers which are always ranked in the first seven positions in terms of circulation rate have been selected to analyse within the scope of this study (http://gazetetirajlari.com/). These newspapers are Hürriyet, Milliyet, Sabah, Habertürk and Posta. All news articles relating the “Mars” planet which have been published in the abovementioned newspapers between the years 2013 and 2018 will be analysed in this study. It is also clearly stated in this study at what rate and to what extent the Mars-related news articles have been tabloidisedwithin the specified period of time. By taking into consideration the limits of this study, totally 15 news articles will be analysedand the rest of news articles will be shown in a table which allows to make an assessment. As the consequence of the study, it is revealed how newspapers present the Mars-related news items and whether they respect the media ethics and principles of journalism.
