Following the establishment of the Turkish Republic, community centers were established to make revolutions adopted by the public, to educate them and raise their consciousness. The community centers which were started to be opened on 14 February 1932 rapidly spread across the country and they were closed by the Democrat Party (DP) with the start of the multi-party period as it was believed they had completed their missions. The community centers played an important role in the Turkish modernization process. The Kütahya community center is one of these cornerstones and it was of special importance as Kütahya was one of the cities of the prince affiliated to grand viziership. In this regard, the current study aims to evaluate the activities performed by the Kütahya community center, its assets, and branches from its opening to closure on the basis of the documents found and to reveal whether the objectives underlying the reason for the establishment of community centers by Kütahya community centers were accomplished.
