Data Envelopment Analysis is a method based on linear programming and used to evaluate the relative effectiveness of decision units which are responsible for setting the inputs or outputs by using similar outputs. In this study, at first the data envelopment analysis and CCR, BCC and additive methods most widely used in the data envelopment analysis, were introduced. Then, using Data Envelopment Analysis the relative efficiency belonging to 2009, 2010 and 2011 years of 25 firms which ranked among the top 500 largest companies operating in the food sector in Turkey in the last three years, were measured. To solve models DEA Solver (Data Envelopment Analysis Solver) software which is used with special software of Data Envelopment Analysis was used. As a result of the study, the percentage of the average activity was found as 77%. For the data of the year 2011, 10 companies were found to be effective according to the model of the CCR while 12 companies were found to be effective according to the model of BCC. In addition, a set of reference sets was found to effective the firms which were not effective. Also, efficients were determined for those firms
