ABSTRACT: Home healthcare is provided by health professionals to people at their homes. This study focused on home health care services provided by the Diyarbakır Directorate of Health Services and the Secretary General of the Association of Public Hospitals between 2010 and 2015.Public Hospitals were included in the study. It was found that number of patients delivering home care service was greater in 65+ age group between female patients. There was an increase in home care services in years 2014 and 2015. The staff most included in home health care units in 2015 were nurses, doctors, nutritionists and physical therapists. Physical examination, medical dressing, medical investigation/tests, catheter application were among most frequently given health services.The Turkish Ministry of Health has implemented measures, including compulsory provision of home health care services by hospitals since 2010. Our findings show that these measures have been succesful because home health care use has improved considering patient numbers and services provided by hospitals in the last two years.
