Children’s and youth literature includes products enriching the world of emotions and thoughts of a target audience in accordance with language development and comprehension level. A child or a teenager who is in a transitional period gains reading habit, develops literary sensitivity and contributes to identity development by benefiting from the products of children’s and youth literature. Through translated books, they get new experiences by confronting characters in different cultures, and thus they acquire enrichment of emotions and thoughts. In this study, three school were selected from the central districts of Karatay, Meram and Selçuklu in Konya, and forty 8th grade students from each school, one hundred and twenty in total, were asked which translated books they had read recently. Except for the classical books, it was determined that the first two most read books were “Percy Jackson and the Olimpians: Lightning Thief” and “Ranger’s Apprentice: The Ruins of Gorlan”. In the research, these books were examined in terms of plot, theme, characters, plan, language and style. The data were obtained using document analysis as a qualitative research method and analysed through content analysis technique. Depending on the findings, it has been determined that popular translated children’s novels are series books in adventure and fantasy genres. Besides, it has been detected that the main characters in the books are children but there are also supernatural creatures, struggle against the evil is emphasized and elements from children’s lives are included.
