With the coming of the Qur’an, the writing books has gained great momentum in the Islamic world. While the names were given as theirs subjects or their writers to the books which were written in the first centuries, the aesthetic value names were started to be given to the books from the third century A.H. As in every field of Islamic sciences, rhymed names were used widely in the commentary field. While some commantators given a names to their books by quoting to the names of verses, some have named by using different names of the Qur’an. Short names as well as very long names have taken places in the names of the tafseer books. But pretentious names were given to some tafseer books. Although, with name and named were generally paid attention, it can be found in the names that name and named does not overlap. In this article the names of tafseer books are analyzed with various aspects
