The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in views of in-service elementary school teachers on the assessment of mission of the new 2005 elementary school mathematics curriculum by gender, first to fifth grade, length of service, education. There were a total of 258 in-service elementary school teachers involved in this study that took place in the city center of Sivas. The researcher gave a liker-type questionnaire consisting of 14 statements to the participants. This questionnaire was designed to find out the participants’ views about the mission of new mathematics curriculum at elementary school level. Descrip- tive statistic and independent sample t-test and one-way ANOVA were used in the analysis of the data. This study showed that there were no gender-related differences in views of in- service elementary school teachers on the assessment of mission of the new 2005 elementary school mathematics curriculum. There were no lengths of service-related and education- related differences in views of in-service elementary school teachers on the assessment of mission of the new 2005 elementary school mathematics curriculum. However, there was a statistically significant difference found between 1stand 4thgrade teachers’ views about the mission of new elementary school mathematics program.
