In this study it is intended to test the validity and reliability of the Turkish adaptation of the Aggression Inventory (AI). In this context, the data of research has been attained from 438 (M =290, F=148) university students studying in different faculty of Marmara University, in 2008-2009 academic year. The inventory used in the research has 30 items, Likert type and 5 point response format. Criterion related validity method was used to determine validity of inventory. Criterion related validity was shown that there was significant correlation between Aggression Inventory and Aggression Questionnaire (r=.766). In order to calculate the reliability, Cronbach alpha, item-total correlations, item remainder correlations, and test-retest methods were applied. Cronbach alpha coefficient of the inventory was found “.823”; test-retest correlation coefficient was “r=.528”. Item-total correlation co-efficiencies vary between “.229” and “.689”. Item-reminder correlation co-efficiencies’ values ranged between “.134” and “.619”. According to the results of item analysis, all item had a high discrimination index value. The results indicated that the Aggression Inventory can be used to determine a valid and reliable measure of various reactions of aggression. Key words: Aggression, reliability and validity
