The purpose of this research is evaluate scientific tourism congresses and symposium that are held in Turkey in terms of various bibliometric parameters. In this context, the general situation of the current situation of the tourism congress, held in Turkey, has been adopted in terms of time, location, hosting university or universities, formats, publication possibilities, congress committees, types of the participant’s appellations and distribution of proceeding papers according to the number of congresses and authors. The research population includes 25 different conferences and symposiums which has a main theme in tourism and held in 2018 in Turkey. In this qualitative designed research, document-archive scanning was used as a data collection technique, and in the analysis of the data, congresses and papers were subjected to frequency and percentage analysis from descriptive analysis. It was determined that the most congress was held in February, September and October with four, highest number of three in İzmir and in total events were held in 20 different provinces. As a result of the research, it has been determined that the 76% of the academic conferences qualified namely as international and 24% of them as national; 56% of evets published full text proceeding papers book and 40% of them published abstract papers; scientific board members have very different distributions in terms of their academic titles and nationalities, and their similarity rates are very low.
