Geography is defined as a multidisciplinary science in terms of its content, subject and field of study, which is closely related to social and human sciences, In addition, geography has sometimes been exposed to various criticisms. However, geography has always maintained its importance in providing individuals with geographic awareness, daily life skills and a global perspective. The aim of this study is to examine the teaching of some geography subjects in 4th grade social studies course according to the opinions of the teachers. In this study, which is designed as a qualitative examination, case study design is used. The participants of the study consist of 27 primary teachers, who are currently working in the 2018-2019 academic year and have lectured 4th grade social studies courses. The data were obtained with a semi-structured interview form and evaluated by using descriptive analysis and content analysis techniques. According to the findings of the study there were various positive and negative factors affecting student success in teaching geography subjects in social studies class. It was also found out that direct instruction method and catechize is generally used as training method. Map and model spheres were used as teaching materials. Teachers also stated that they experienced various difficulties in teaching some geographical concepts and subjects.
