Fuat Köprülü is a reference both in terms of scholarship and methodology to the scientists working on cultural history for a century with the works he has prepared about Turkish history, literature, sociology and folklore. As a result of his contribution to Turkish scholarship and politics, UNESCO has attributed the year 2016 to this great scientist in the name of his fiftieth anniversary of the death. Köprülü, regarded as the founder of modern Turkish history science, has taken the methodology to priority with his integral and evolutionist scientific approach in all his works. With the understanding of scientific style and methods beyond his age and an awareness that studies in the field of history and culture sciences can not be handled with old approaches, he has tried to determine the methodology of the Turkish world researches in parallel with the western developments of modern sciences concept and stated that an integral and contextual approach should be exhibited. The methods and theories that Köprülü pointed out centuries ago and used in his works that are based on an integral and contextual approach are the prototypes of "Context Based Folklore Theories" used in folklore studies since the second half of the twentieth century. With his works directed towards the Turkish cultural universe and his theoretical and methodical understanding, Köprülü has become one of the scholars of the Turkish world by contributing to the formation of the scientific understanding that modern Turkey needs in the construction process
