Arapçadaki bazı kelimeler aynı anda zıt nitelikleri ifade etmektedir. “Ezdâd” başlığı altında incelenen bu tür kelimelerle ilgili bazı eserler yazılmış, bu tür kelimelerin ortaya çıkış nedenleri incelenmiştir. Kur’ân-ı Kerim’de de zıt olgular bazen farklı kelimelerle aktarılmış, nadiren de olsa aynı (ezdâd) kelimelerle ifade edilmiştir. Bu hususta Tefsir Usulü kitaplarında bahisler açılmış, müfessirler tefsirlerinde ilgili âyetleri açıklarken bu kelimeleri zıt yönleriyle ele almış, meâl çalışmalarında bu husus dikkate alınmaya çalışılmıştır. Ancak Kur’ân’da bu tür kaç kelimenin bulunduğu hususunda farklı listeler verilmektedir. Taberî’nin Camiu’l-Beyân tefsirinde “ezdâd” konusu ele alınmış, bu tür kelimelerle ilgili önemli bilgiler aktarılmıştır. Bu makalede Taberî’nin ezdâd kabul ettiği Kur’ân’daki 34 kelime incelenmiştir. Dilciler ile müfessirlerin bu kelimelere verdikleri anlamlar aktarıldıktan sonra Taberî’nin âyet ve ezdâd kelimenin manasıyla ilgili açıklamaları ele alınmıştır.
