This cross-sectional, descriptive and arialytic study was carried out on students of School of Medicine and School of Health Services in Konya. These groups are well-aware of the danger of smoking. Total prevalance of smoking was 24.7 %, prevalance of smoking among girls was 16.6 %, and among boys was 304 %. There was a significant relation between older age and male sex and smoking. (p < 0,01), Onset age of smoking was higher on 16-19, mü beginning time to smoke was higher on entering School of Medicine and School of Health Services, There was no significant correlation between job of their fathers and living with members of the family, and smoking (p >0.Q5). The higher the family's income and the number of smokers in family, the higher was the smoking prevalance (p<0,01), Alcohol consumption was higher in smokers (p<0,01). Individuals who are heavy smokers and smoked for longer period (Mean duration; 55 mounths and mean amount 10 cigarette per day) ceased smoking when they feel the hazardous effects of smoking. Causes of beginning smokîng are; reliewe their arctiety effect of friends» curiosi and adaptation to social media, respectively.
