In the literature of Kalam {theology). Miracle, as a technical term, has been defined as, "the occurrence of an extraordinary event in the han ds of a man who claims to be a prophet as a canfirmation of his prophecy, in the time when he challenges to infidels." In this definition, made by theologians with reference to the Qur’an, the terms challenge and always are and you im portant elements for a derstanding the nature of the same extraordinary events manifested by a prophet. In the Qur’an, Gad informs us that he had given the same rational and sensual heritage to the former prophets; but as for the Prophet Muhammad, Gad states that the Qur’an would be sufficient for him. The Prophet Muhammad himself declares that he has been given the Qur’an as a miracle. In addition, if we studied the extraordinary events attributed to the Prophet Muhammad carefully, we see that, chancely they do not fit the abovementioned definition of miraele and secondly the reports related to this matter are weak when compared to the Qur’anic verses. The Qur’an is the only mirale of the Prophet Muhammad, and he has not been given any other sensey miracles.
