After the collapse of the Eastern Bloc, there has been a wave of democratization in Eastern Europe and the former USSR. As a predictable consequence, this wave fairly changed political systems and social and economic structure. Strong social movements and the governments shaped this process by round table talks in Poland, Hungary, Czechoslovakia However in Bulgaria, the transition process took a long time. On the other hand the people overthrew the government in a bloody riot in Romania. The constitutions which are democratic, pluralist, and based on market economy and western ideology have been made by the new governments. The governmental systems have been reformed in central and eastern European countries owing to these constitutional movements. In this vein, in certain countries parliamentary system was endorsed, wheras some other countries opted for semi-presidential systems
