Abstract:

Purpose: The Child's Nutrition Refusal Measurement (CBRÖ) that measures food refusal between 2-7 years of age is intended to be adapted to Turkey by performing validity and reliability studies. Individuals and Method: This study was conducted with 195 individuals with children between 2 and 7 years of age on the online platform between March and May 2021. The scale is adapted to the Turkish translation method. The original of the scale contains 11 items consisting of 2 lower dimensions. Explanatory factor analysis and verifying factor analysis were performed for validity analysis and conformity index assessed. The Cronbach alpha internal consistency ratio was used for reliability analysis. The statistical analysis was made using Statistical Package for Social Sicences (SPSS) version 16.0 and AMOS 24.0. The level of meaning is considered p<0.05 . Results: The CBR-5 (P10) item is extracted from the scale because it is described by two separate dimensions and the difference between the factor load values is less than 0.10. For the final scale accepted by the ten and 2 sub-dimensions, the conformity indicators are at an acceptable level, the internal consistency is quite reliable for the selectivity sub-dimensions, the neophobia sub-dimensions and the scale sum are highly reliable. The scale score for food refusal in children was 30.45 ± 6.41. The result: The measurement of the Turkish adaptation of the Child's Nutrition Refusal Measurement has been established as a valid and reliable measurement tool for measuring the refusal of the food.
