Abstract As different research about sign language translation and interpreting have increased within undergraduate and graduate programs in Brazil, as well as the constitution of research cores and research groups, in addition to the establishment of undergraduate degrees focused on training Libras-Portuguese interpreters in Brazilian federal universities, Sign Language Translation and Interpreting Studies (SLTIS) have gained solidity and visibility. In such matter, between 2010 and 2020, some Brazilian journals have published special volumes dedicated to research within SLTIS, however, none of them have published articles directly in Libras. This Special Volume of Cadernos de Tradução is the first, on a national level, to present written articles, in Portuguese and English, with an abridged version in Libras, produced by the authors themselves. Altogether, the volume has eleven articles, written by twenty-one authors, belonging to eleven different Brazilian educational institutions, addressing contemporary topics within the field of SLTIS. Furthermore, this volume also presents a review and a translation of an article from English into Portuguese.
