Bu araştırmanın amacı okul müdürlerinin küresel iklim değişikliği ile ilgili farkındalık düzeylerini ortaya koymaktır. Araştırmanın evrenini, Kocaeli ili Başiskele ilçesinde resmi ve özel okullarda görev yapan 84 okul müdürü oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada nitel araştırma tekniği ve rastgele örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmaya 21 okul müdürü katılmıştır. Araştırmada verileri toplamak için yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu aracılığıyla görüşme yöntemi tercih edilmiştir. Görüşme sonuçları içerik analizi yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Veriler yorumlanırken 3 ana tema kullanılmıştır. Daha sonra bu temalar kategorilere ayrılmıştır. Okul müdürlerinin küresel iklim değişikliği görüşleri temasında; insan etkisine yönelik ve doğal dengenin bozulmasına yönelik 2 kategori, küresel iklim değişikliğinin etkilerini azaltmaya yönelik faaliyetler temasında; yaşam şeklinin değiştirilmesine yönelik ve enerji tercihleri ve sanayi faaliyetlerine yönelik 2 kategori, küresel iklim değişikliği ile mücadelede eğitim kurumlarının rolü temasında; eğitime yönelik ve toplumu bilinçlendirmeye yönelik 2 kategoride incelenmiştir. Çalışmada elde edilen sonuçlara göre katılımcılar küresel iklim değişikliğinin çevre ve canlı yaşamı ciddi bir sorun olduğunu, küresel iklim değişikliğinin olumsuz etkilerinin azaltılması faaliyetlerinin bir devlet politikası olması gerektiğini ifade etmiştir. Küresel iklim değişikliği konusunda farkındalık oluşturmak için ulusal ve uluslararası projeler geliştirmek gerektiğini söylemiştir. Eğitimin ve okulların bu soruna farkındalık çalışmaları ve toplumu bilinçlendirme anlamında katkılar sağlayacağı görüşünü belirtmişlerdir. Ayrıca yerelde belediyeler ve sivil toplum kuruluşları ile okulların ortak projeler üretmesi gerektiği sonucuna varılmıştır.
The aim of this research is to reveal the levels of awareness of school managers about global climate change. The universe of the research is composed of 84 school managers who work in public and private schools in Kocaeli or Başiskele district. In the study, quality research technique and random sampling methods were used. 21 school directors participated in the work. In the study, the method of conversation through a semi-configured conversation form was preferred to collect data. The results of the interview were analyzed by the method of content analysis. Three main themes were used to interpret the data. These subjects are then divided into categories. In the topic of the views of the school managers on global climate change; in the topic of the activities aimed at human impact and the degradation of natural balance; in the topic of the activities aimed at reducing the effects of global climate change; in the topic of the activities aimed at changing the way of life and energy preferences and industrial activities; in the topic of the role of educational institutions in the fight against global climate change; in the topic of the activities aimed at education and awareness of society. According to the results obtained in the study, participants pointed out that global climate change is a serious problem for the environment and living life, and that activities to reduce the negative effects of global climate change should be a government policy. He said it is necessary to develop national and international projects to raise awareness of global climate change. They pointed out that education and schools will contribute to this problem in the sense of awareness and awareness of society. It is also concluded that local municipalities and civil society organizations and schools should produce joint projects.

According to the results obtained in the study, the participants stated that global climate change is a serious problem for the environment and living life, and that activities to reduce the negative effects of global climate change should be a state policy. He said that it is necessary to develop national and international projects to raise awareness about global climate change. They stated that education and schools will contribute to this problem in terms of awareness studies and raising awareness of the society. In addition, it was concluded that local municipalities, non-governmental organizations and schools should produce joint projects.
