Abstract:

OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study is to determine burnout levels of health workers except the physicians, working in Denizli State Hospital and factors relationship with burnout.METHODS: This cross sectional research was collected 401 (%67.5) of 594 health workers inDenizli State Hospital. The data was complied with using a questionnaire including Maslach Burnout Inventory and Sweden Work Control Inventory and questions about some personal, familial and occupational features. Student t test, One way- ANOVA test, Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskall-Wallis test and Linear Regression test were used in this research.RESULTS: The mean value of Maslach Burnout Inventory subscores including emotional exhaustion,depersonalization and low personal accomplishment were assessed as 15.0±6.1; 4.2±3.0; 22.1±4.3, respectively. There were signifi cant associations between the level of burnout of the health workers in Denizli State Hospital, and age, occupation, the number of years spent in job, having children situation, partner’s work situation. Inthe regression analyzing model was composed those variables shows while the age has increased, emotional exhaustion and depersonalization have been decreased, personal accomplishment has been increased. While the job stress has increased, depersonalization have been decreased, personal accomplishment has been increased.CONCLUSION: The burnout levels of the health workers except the physicians are less than some other previous research. However the arrangements are necessary about the preventable job stress factors causing burnout determined in this study.
