Abstract:

Araştırmada bireylerin benlik saygısı düzeylerinin belirlenmesinde on sorudan oluşan Rosenberg benlik saygısı ölçeğinin alt kategorisi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin değerlendirilmesinde ve hesaplanmasında SPSS 22 IBM istatistik paket program kullanılmıştır. Veriler ortalama ve standart sapma olarak özetlenmiştir. Yapılan analizler sonucunda; Rekreatif amaçlı yürüyüş egzersizi yapan deney gurubunun benlik saygısı düzeylerinde istatiksel olarak anlamlı derecede iyileşme saptanırken, kontrol gurubunu oluşturan bireylerin benlik saygısı düzeylerinde istatiksel olarak herhangi bir değişiklik saptanmamıştır. Sonuç olarak rekreatif amaçlı yürüyüş egzersizlerinin obez çocuklarda vücut kitle indekslerindeki iyileşmeyle birlikte bu iyileşmeye bağlı olarak benlik saygısı düzeylerinde olumlu etkiler yarattığını söyleyebiliriz.

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study the impact of recreational walking exercises on self-respect in obese children. 20 obese sedanter children between the ages of 12-14 formed the experimental group of the study, and 20 non-obese sedanter children between the ages of 12-14 formed the control group. The experimental team has been held for 8 weeks of recreational walking exercise, and the control team has not been held for any exercise activity. The study used a subcategory of the Rosenberg self-respect scale, which consists of ten questions for the determination of individual self-respect levels. In the assessment and calculation of the data obtained, the SPSS 22 IBM statistical package program was used. The data is summarized as an average and standard deviation. The results of the analyses are that the level of self-esteem of the experimental group that performs recreational walking exercises has been statistically significantly improved, while the level of self-esteem of the control group has not been statistically changed. As a result, we can say that walking exercises for recreational purposes, along with the improvement in body mass index in obese children, have a positive effect on the levels of self-esteem due to this improvement.

SPSS 22 IBM statistical package program was used in the evaluation and calculation of the data obtained. Data are summarized as mean and standard deviation. As a result of the analysis; While there was a statistically significant improvement in the self-esteem levels of the experimental group doing recreation gait exercise, no statistically significant change was found in the self-esteem levels of the control group. In conclusion, we can say that recreational walking exercises have positive effects on self-esteem levels due to improvement in body mass index in obese children.
